Partnership Pre-Conference Discussed in Intercom Article
The Academic SIG leadership team discusses the processes of putting together the Partnerships for Professionalism Pre-Conference workshop at last Fall's CPTSC conference in the January issue of Intercom,"STC Academic SIG Hosts Partnership Preconference at CPTSC".
The article includes the lessons learned by the Academic SIG as they developed their first ever-preconference, and the logistics of using a hybrid presentation format.

Pre-Conference Workshop at CPTSC
Partnerships for Professionalism: Connecting Practitioners, Educators, and Students
Hosted by the STC Academic Special Interest Group
Please join the Academic Special Interest Group of the STC on Thursday, October 6 for a pre-conference workshop immediately preceding the 2011 annual conference of the Council of Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication. This is an exciting new venture that will facilitate an active exchange between STC and CPTSC.

This workshop features two keynote addresses, four one-hour panels, and excellent cuisine. Program topics are listed below and will include the opportunity for discussion across the industry/academy boundaries:

- Social Networking and Technical Communication
- Making Collaboration a Priority
Our keynote speakers will be:

You may register for this free workshop in one of two ways. If you are attending the CPTSC conference, please just check the Workshop box on the registration site when you register for CPTSC. If you are not planning to attend CPTSC, you may register for only the workshop by going to to our registration page. We ask for these registrations so that we can be sure to provide breakfast and lunch for the right number of people. Space is limited
